Cookies
Short version: this site sets only the cookies it needs to work, and none that track you. That is why there is no cookie banner: consent is asked for cookies a site does not need, and there are none here to ask about. Our traffic measurement uses no cookies at all; the Privacy page explains how it works.
The cookies this site sets
| Cookie | What it is for | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
ropenode-session |
Keeps you signed in, and keeps what you typed into a form between pages | 120 minutes after your last visit to a page |
XSRF-TOKEN |
Proves a form was sent from this site, not from another site posing as you | The same as the session |
remember_web_… |
Keeps you signed in between visits. Set only if you tick Remember me | 400 days, or until you sign out |
appearance |
Remembers the light or dark theme. Set only once you choose one | 1 year |
sidebar_state |
Remembers whether your account sidebar is open. Set only once you open or close it | 7 days |
Your theme choice is also kept in your browser's local storage, under the same name, so pages do not flash the wrong theme while they load.
None of them is shared with anyone, used for advertising, or used to follow you to other websites. The site loads no scripts, fonts or images from other websites, with the one exception described under Bot protection below; its security policy tells your browser to refuse everything else.
Payments
Checkout happens on Stripe's own pages, and Stripe sets its own cookies there, for example to prevent fraud, under its own privacy policy. We set none for it.
Bot protection
The log in, sign-up and password-reset forms load Google reCAPTCHA, which checks that the form is being sent by a person and not a bot, without asking you anything. Google may set or read its own cookies while it does, under its own privacy policy. We set none for it.
Removing them
You can delete these cookies in your browser at any time. Without the first two you cannot sign in or send a form; without the others, the site forgets your theme or sidebar.
