Your model provider account
Ropenode never holds a model credential — for either provider.
It launches the official claude or codex binary as a subprocess. That binary
authenticates itself, the same way it does when you run it in a terminal. Ropenode does not
read your API key or session token, does not store it, does not proxy it, and never calls
Anthropic's or OpenAI's API directly.
That boundary also means:
- your usage is billed to you by Anthropic or OpenAI, at their price, with no markup;
- Ropenode has no way to see, cache or resell your prompts or the agent's outputs;
- if you cancel Ropenode, your Claude and ChatGPT accounts are entirely unaffected.
You need your own subscription with at least one provider. Ropenode is the cockpit, not the fuel.
